How to download your raw DNA file from MyHeritage

Source: MyHeritage Help Center, "How do I download my raw DNA data file from MyHeritage?", https://www.myheritage.com/help/en/articles/12851869-how-do-i-download-my-raw-dna-data-file-from-myheritage (page updated 8 Oct 2026; read 14 Oct 2026).

Before you start

  • The Download option appears only once your DNA results are published.
  • Only the manager of the DNA kit can download it, not the person it is assigned to.
  • Use a computer or an Android device. It does not work on an iPhone or iPad.
  • A kit you uploaded to MyHeritage from another company cannot be downloaded here; get it from that company.

The steps

  1. 1Sign in, hover over the DNA tab and choose Manage DNA kits.
  2. 2On the right of the kit, click the three dots and choose Download.
  3. 3A window explains what you are downloading. Click Continue.
  4. 4Accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy and click Continue.
  5. 5Open the e-mail MyHeritage sends and click the download link. The link works for 24 hours; if it expires, repeat the steps.
  6. 6On the MyHeritage page that opens, enter your password and click Download.

Good to know

If the kit has Y-chromosome data, the file includes it.

Then

Then upload the file to Indaga as you downloaded it, zipped or not.

The free report shows what the file covers and five trait readings (lactose, alcohol flush, caffeine sensitivity, skin and sun, muscle fibre). No card needed for the free report.

We’re building it privacy-first, cited, and honest about what it can and can’t see.

Free: what your file covers and five trait readings (lactose, alcohol flush, caffeine sensitivity, skin and sun, muscle fibre). $69: the full report and the full analysis. No card needed for the free report.
